Marques Barrett Houston (born August 4, 1981) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, model, and actor. A member of the R&B group Immature/IMx from 1990 until 2002, Houston went solo in 2003. As an actor, he is known for his role as Roger Evans in the television comedy Sister, Sister.
Houston was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He began his career in the entertainment industry at a young age, appearing in commercials and television shows. In 1990, he joined the R&B group Immature, alongside Jerome “Romeo” Jones and Don “Half Pint” Santos. The group achieved success in the early 1990s with hits such as “On Our Worst Behavior” and “Constantly.”
In 1994, Houston began his acting career with a recurring role on the television sitcom Sister, Sister. He played Roger Evans, the boyfriend of one of the show’s lead characters, Tia Landry. Houston’s role as Sister, Sister helped to make him a household name.
Houston released his debut solo album, MH, in 2003. The album was a commercial success, spawning the hit singles “Why Can’t We Be Lovers” and “Clubbin’.” Houston’s follow-up album, Naked, was released in 2005 and also achieved commercial success.
