Oscar Nuñez is a Cuban-American actor and comedian. He is best known for his role as the Dunder Mifflin accountant Oscar Martinez on NBC’s The Office. Nuñez was born in Colón, Cuba, on November 18, 1958. His family moved to the United States when he was two years old, and he grew up in Union City, New Jersey. He is bilingual, speaking English and Spanish.
Nuñez attended various colleges in New York, including the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design. He also studied improv comedy at The Groundlings. In 1999, Nuñez was a finalist in the ABC Writers’ Workshop for Latino Writers. He then began writing and performing sketches for The Groundlings.
In 2005, Nuñez was cast as Oscar Martinez on The Office. He appeared in all nine seasons of the show, and his performance earned him two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
Nuñez is married to actress Ursula Whittaker. They have one child together.
