Teodora Špirić, professionally known as Teya (stylized in all caps) and formerly as Thea Devy, is an Austrian singer-songwriter. With the song “Who the Hell Is Edgar?” she is expected to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 alongside Salena.
Teodora Špirić was born to Serbian parents on April 12, 2000, in Vienna, Austria. She grew up in Kladovo, Serbia, but later moved back to Vienna with her family. Her primary artistic influences have been Adele and Amy Winehouse.
Teodora Špirić launched her debut single “Waiting For” in 2018. She applied to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song “Judgement Day” at the end of 2019. She was one of three acts shortlisted; however, she was not chosen as Austria’s representative.
She later submitted the song “Sudnji dan” to Beovizija 2020, Serbia’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Teodora Špirić’s parents had translated the song into Serbian. On January 9, 2020, it was revealed that she has been chosen to compete in the competition. She advanced to the final, where she finished tenth with four points.
